米国で最大手のSoulサイト「SoulTracks」。
このSoulTracksで毎年行われるWeb上のグラミー賞とも言えるSoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awardsが今年も開催。そのノミネートアーティスト/楽曲が公開された。
今年はメジャーアーティストではEarth, Wind & Fire、Chrisette Michele、India Arie、Gregory Porter、Jose Jamesが、インデペンダントアーティストではOmarやBiralなどがノミネートされたこの栄誉ある賞に、SWEET SOUL RECORDSから作品を発売しているアーティストがノミネートされた。
【 Female Vocalist of the Year 】には、今年日本でも大きな話題を呼んだTess Henleyに並んで、Candace BellamyとCarolyn Malachiがノミネート。
Swing Out SistersやBrand New Heaviesがノミネートされている【 Duo or Group of the Year 】にはMoonchildが、【 Male Vocalist of the Year 】にはMarcell RussellとTim Dillingerがノミネート。
更にはインデペンダントアーティストの年間最優秀アルバムを決める【Independent Album of the Year】にはMarcell Russellの『The Serenade and the Sermon』、年間最優秀楽曲を決める【Song of the Year】にはTim Dillinge feat B Skadeの”The Baton”がノミネートされ、SWEET SOUL RECORDSのアーティストが数多くノミネートされる結果となった。
12月には同サイトにて受賞者の発表が行われる予定。結果を楽しみにお待ち頂きたい。
